Privacy

This policy explains, in plain language, what information Ktisai (“we,” “us”) collects through this website and through our apps, including Synesis, Oikonomos, and Nomizo, and what we do with it. Our short version: we collect as little as we can, we use it only to run the apps you choose to use, and we never sell it.

This website

ktisai.com is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write.

Information our apps may collect

What an app collects depends on the app and the features you use. In general:

• Account information. If an app offers sign-in (for example, with Google), we receive basic identifiers such as your name, email address, and profile picture so we can create and recognize your account.
• Content you create. Things you add to an app, such as vocabulary, notes, budgets, or categories, are used to provide the app to you. Where possible, we keep this data on your device rather than on our servers.
• Financial information. If you choose to connect a bank account in a budgeting app such as Oikonomos, the connection is made through a third-party provider (Plaid). Account and transaction data is used only to show you your own budget and is not sold or used for advertising.
• Technical information. Limited diagnostic data, such as app version, device type, and error details, may be processed to keep the apps working.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the apps you use.
• To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
• To respond when you contact us for support.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run our apps, and they process information only on our behalf. Depending on the app, these may include Google (Firebase sign-in and storage), Vercel (hosting), Plaid (bank connections in Oikonomos), and AI model providers such as OpenAI (for AI-assisted features in Synesis, where the content you submit is sent to the provider to fulfill your request). Each provider has its own privacy policy.

App-specific notices

Some apps publish their own privacy notice with more detail, for example Oikonomos. Where an app’s notice is more specific than this policy, that notice governs for that app.

Retention and deletion

We keep account information only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by writing to info@ktisai.com.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and you can disconnect linked services (such as a bank connection) from within the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and, where an app supports it, encryption on your device. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to let you know, for example in the app.
